Today’s flight takes you into the heart of the oldest desert in the world, the Namib Desert. This afternoon explore the private 27 000-hectare Kulala Wilderness Reserve, the gateway to Namibia’s Sand Sea with its towering dunes and clear starry skies. Desert-adapted wildlife in the area is fascinating and is another dimension of this truly spectacular place.

Today you join an early morning excursion to the famous Sossusvlei and in the afternoon you join an activity on the Kulala Reserve to see where the dunes comes together and prevent the Tsauchab River to flow any further.

After breakfast your pilot will fly you out over the dunes of Sossusvlei along the southern part of the Skeleton Coast and on to Swakopmund. Transfer from the airport to The Tug restaurant, where you have lunch, before continuing your journey to Mowe Bay and the Shipwreck Lodge. You can look forward to appreciating the harsh beauty of the desert, solitary landscapes with plenty of geological history. The lodge is located in the famous Skeleton Coast Central Concession between the Hoarusib and Hoanib Rivers in the Skeleton Coast Park.

Transfer to Shipwreck Lodge to Hoanib Valley Camp and have the unique opportunity to explore this isolated wilderness in a way that few people have done. The focus of the activities is on the flora and fauna that has adapted to this desert region including desert elephants, giraffes, springboks, oryx and even lions. Guests can join the guides for a visit to the local tribes of Himba, Herero or Damara.

After morning activity and breakfast, it’s time to check out, load into the 4×4 vehicles, transfer to the airstrip for your last private light aircraft flight to Maun.
